Sunny Saturday on Chicago's Navy Pier

Logan and Steven catch on ride on a Thomas the Tank Engine look-alike.

The older kids took a ride on the giant swing...

Michael (our friend's son in the foreground, green shorts)

Steven and Celeste are just behind him - you can see Celeste's purple boots dangling.

Here is the trio - Celeste, Steven and Michael, after their ride.

It was a hot afternoon, so the kids took a break to enjoy an icy snow cone.

Here they all are showing off their colorful tongues.

Steven, Joey, Celeste, Michael and Logan.

Hopping in the cab for a quick ride back to Michael and Joey's hotel - still showing off those tongues!

A look at the pier from Michael and Joey's hotel - what a view!

Taking a break in the air conditioning before heading back out for

an architectural boat tour of the city.

Celeste, on the boat.

Celeste, Logan, Katie - just before the boat pulls away for the start of the tour.

A look around downtown from the river.

baby ducks

Much to our surprise, we went to check on momma duck and this is what we found...

So, a quick look around the pond... and there she was, ducklings in tow.
I couldn't get close enough for a good picture or for a good count on how many babies she had with her - there had been 9 eggs...

Cosley Zoo

The kids and I visited the Cosley Zoo in Wheaton, IL this past week.

For my Ohio family/friends - I would put this "zoo" on the same playing field as the

Lake Erie Nature Center in Bay Village.

Still was plenty enough fun!

Look what the kids found in our front yard flower bed this morning!
Duck eggs - 9 of them!
